We wanted to give this balm some extra power, so we turned to matcha. Known for its strong antioxidant properties, matcha helps protect lips against oxidative stress which can damage sensitive skin and cause dryness, reduced elasticity and premature ageing. Powdered Japanese tea can help fight these processes and ensure your lips stay soft and healthy.

The oils we’ve chosen are considered essential in lip care provided by natural cosmetics. A great moisturiser, avocado oil is also rich in fatty acids which support skin elasticity. Jojoba, castor and olive oils hydrate and moisturise, but absorb fast and do not feel heavy. Candelilla wax is a true vegan treasure which supports the much needed barrier against external stressors as well as helping the balm stay on for longer. Squalane encourages regeneration and protects against cracking, while vitamin E helps restore skin barrier.

We’ve created the scent for this balm with a cold and refreshing cup of matcha tea in mind. For this, we used lemon, mint and spearmint. The addition of powdered matcha is not only beneficial but gives this balm a lovely colour too.
